Can a furious mod give me double adrenaline when something hits me? Or just when I hit something else?

You have to hit something.

Furious is a weapon upgrade that grants a 2-10% chance that a successful hit with an attack or attack skill will yield twice as much adrenaline as it would otherwise give. For example, with 14 swordsmanship, a successful hit with Dragon Slash that triggers the double adrenaline gain from Furious will give 11 strikes of adrenaline (12, but -1 for using an adrenal skill) instead of 5 (6, but -1 for using an adrenal skill).

Example of how one works a 10% furious sword gets a 10 % chance when striking a target to get double adrinaline. (only when striking) There are some spells that work the way you discribe but not weapons [skill]Balthazar's Spirit[/skill]
